Raft game

The genre is ‘open world survival craft’, but because of the story it felt very linear. Bosses: We cheesed the mother bear because it was one-shotting us, big bruce was mechanically boring and the final boss felt like a bullet sponge. You can get fancy with poking the shark as soon as it starts the attack and it wont hurt you, but not much else. The story islands did range from unfinished (bear island) to fully fleshed out and fun.Ĭombat is pretty simple, side step and stab. The puzzles are pretty straight-forward and can be accomplished with one person. When we started 1-3 hour sessions didn’t feel very productive (mostly because on hard you can have up to 4 sharks attacking your raft and we mostly played in reactive mode), but that got better when we progressed to later chapters. The difficulty also seemed to peak at the start and get much much easier over time, none-existent once you armor the raft. I played with a buddy on hard for the first chapter and the difficulty scaling felt more like a chore then some interesting mechanic to overcome so we played the rest of the story on easy. I am recommending it based on the price and that there are other playstyles that I believe will get a lot out of this game. The best way to describe the overall game is a great idea, but unpolished.
